Choosing a profession is one of the most difficult choices in life, everyone tells you. At this pressure, it’s doubly hard to tell. It’s not really “once and for all” here. The process, rather, is similar to assembling a complex model from the details of the designer. First we lay the foundation of education, then we complement it with skills – and only then we translate it into a profession. How do I assemble my designer properly?
It is worth starting with the choice of educational direction – technical, scientific or humanitarian. The second step is to learn to do something practically. And only then you will find yourself in the third stage – when you need to explore your capabilities and understand how exactly you would like to implement these skills. Humanities education Humanities are the most multifaceted field. And it doesn’t come down to literature and art at all. It includes economics, psychology, law and a host of other sciences. What unites them is that they all study the human person and human society. Perhaps because of the diversity of the sciences, it is most difficult for the humanities to decide on their educational and professional choices. Humanities will have to collect information from friends, on the Internet and anywhere to see if they are interested in their chosen profession. Yes, my eyes are running out, but don’t be afraid to make the wrong choice. The pros of the humanitarian field are the same variety of options. The humanitarian can be engaged in purchases and sales, marketing and advertising, recruiting staff, writing articles, working in a travel agency and in general everywhere where there is a society. I mean, in other words, everywhere. If you are easily given algebra, the tasks you click like seeds, and in the time allocated for the test, you have time to solve the next option, you probably understand that your path is related to the exact sciences and technologies. It’s not easy to get into math and technical faculties. The competition is big, especially in famous universities. That is why, if you decide to enter a technical university, do not limit yourself to one class at school: sign up for electives, solve complex problems, read additional literature.
A technical university graduate can work in the field of information technology. They develop rapidly and constantly demand new qualified programmers, analysts, system administrators and many other specialists. There are so many professions in IT, and they are developing at such a speed that everyone has a chance to become the first and unique, and thus demanded and well paid specialist. Natural sciences. Can you explain the principle of photosynthesis on the move? Do you know how sulfite is different from sulfide? Do you know why two brown-eyed parents have blue-eyed children? If you choose a medical education, prepare yourself for a serious competition, for long years of study and practice. The profession of doctor requires not only a lot of responsibility, but also a number of personal qualities: a very good memory and logical abilities, because a living organism is an incredibly complex system within which everything is interconnected, and these connections are often not quite obvious. And you also need to be able to turn on your coolness in time and not to give in to emotions.
Alternatives to medicine in the natural sciences are molecular biology, genetics, pharmaceuticals and many other specialties, many of which have appeared recently. Talented professionals are valued for their weight in gold. But education is a skeleton, and the flesh on it is the skills that a person gets throughout life. In advance you will not guess what skills you need, but one thing you can not doubt – there are no useless skills. Whatever you learn, it will come in handy in the future. But there are skills that are definitely not superfluous, here they are: Learn English. It’ll always come in handy. This language is necessary in any job. Master the office programs. Learn to communicate. The ability to communicate is a great skill. Do what you like best, it’s the surest way to find yours.
